By participating an WAVE 2013, the Stromboli team aimed to draw attention to the outstanding qualities of the Stromboli II vehicle and to demonstrate that electric vehicles powered by renewable energy were already, even at that time, a clean, practical and forward-looking solution that also provided plenty of driving pleasure. In this way, it was to be shown that electric mobility could make a meaningful contribution to a clean and safe future.

Attention was also drawn to the extensive expertise of Eisenring Engineering in the areas of design, layout, concept development and efficiency of electric vehicles, as well as batteries and battery management systems. In the future, the Stromboli II vehicle is to be equipped with even more powerful batteries, enabling a range of up to 1,000 kilometres per charge. For this purpose, Eisenring Engineering is seeking cooperation with further companies and sponsors.

WAVE 2013 started on 28 June in Eichgraben near Vienna. After a prologue through the city of Vienna, the route first led to Hungary, then south to Klagenfurt and finally across the Alps to Zurich, to the Zürifäscht, the largest public festival in Switzerland. There, the WAVE vehicles took part in the world record attempt for the largest electric vehicle parade and set an impressive sign for the future of electric mobility.
